Global green bond issues reached an all-time high in the second quarter of this year, reflecting growing demand for renewable energy financing.
Moody's said that during the second quarter, 164 green bond issues worth $ 66.6 billion were issued.
Overall, $ 117 billion of green bonds were issued in the first six months of this year, with an expected value exceeding $ 200 billion by the end of 2019.
Financials and utilities dominated the issuance of green corporate bonds in the second quarter, and bankers expect more companies to be involved in issuing such bonds.
