WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A new study revealed that a meteorite had created the Lomonosov crater over a length of 75 km.

According to the US site Engadget, there could be a hole south of the crater because of the ocean in this direction, as previous evidence suggested that the ocean beaches had been formed by at least one effect in the same area, but this study has reduced the possibilities.

Scientists confirmed that there was no conclusive evidence that Mars had oceans for billions of years and that more data would be needed to verify Lomonosov's theory. If this evidence is not confirmed in the near future, future Mars missions could focus its research on Effects of Life in a relatively small space.
