The Ministry of Health has launched the "Reference" program for the medical references of holy places, an electronic system facilitating the transfer of patients between hospitals in the region or between the Kingdom's directorates, through which the process of electronic transfer of patients between different levels of health (primary – secondary – specialization – reference) in accordance with the medical decision of lack of medical service or bed for the patient, as well as according to the state of health of the patient upon arrival at the hospital.

It should be noted that the "health" for the Hajj season this year, 1,440 hospitals and health centers in Mecca and in the holy places and in Medina, equipping 25 hospitals, 156 health centers, while participating in 30,000 "health" employees, as well as five thousand hospital beds, 18 medical points in the emotional train, 180 ambulances and 17 emergency centers on the Jamarat bridge.
