The minister urged African countries to follow Egypt in this step, recommending the distribution of drug and narcotic drug lists with all relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Justice. For her part, Cristina Albertin confirmed that the results of the meetings of the specialized technical committee testify to the determination of the African countries to tackle the drug problem on the continent.

She also stressed that the meeting of counter-narcotics officials in Geneva aimed to strengthen the African common voice to fight the drug problem and to make political commitments to drug reduction.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Zayed Shakanda, Deputy Minister of Planning and Reform of State Hospitals of Sierra Leone, and Dr. Mohamed Mirawi, Minister of Health and Population Reform and hospitals in Algeria.
