Spain has apologized for a diplomatic mistake that accompanied the beginning of King Philip VI's visit to Baghdad on Wednesday, the first visit of a king of Spain in four decades.
The King of Spain's plane was surprised when he landed at Baghdad International Airport and lifted the former three-star flag of Iraq from his satellite, the first flag adopted by the banned Baath party .
The Embbady of Spain in Iraq is excused for this error. The Embbady said in a statement: "We apologize for the mistake made by our pilots this morning, the suspension of the flag of the former Republic of Iraq during the visit" .
"This mistake will be corrected today when you leave," she said, adding that "the historic visit is going well".
During his visit to Baghdad, Philip VI met with his country's soldiers, NATO commanders and the international coalition to fight the terrorist group "Da'Ass".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not commented on the mistake of the Spanish diplomat.
"The countries of the world do not know that our knowledge has changed for years," said Sheikh Ali in a statement.
He added: "Whoever represents us abroad does not provide our country with our flags and does not oversee all the big and small visitors."
The science adopted by the dissolved Baath Party in Iraq is identical to the colors of the current Iraqi flag, with three stars bearing the word "Allah Akbar".
After the change of regime of President Saddam Hussein in 2003, the Iraqi flag has become its current status without the three stars, while retaining the word "Allah is greater".
