In a new incident in a violent sports world, a 23-year-old Argentine boxer died five days after his fall after a match.
The World Boxing Council announced that Hugo Santellan had died from a head injury after a light game against Eduardo Abreu on Saturday in San Nicolás, 240 km north of Buenos Aires.
Santillan fell when the result was going to be announced and was operated after the match but never regained consciousness.
Santillan started boxing in 2015 and scored 19 wins, 6 losses and two draws.
Russian boxer Maxim Dadashiv died Tuesday, four days after being brainwashed in a light match against Subilas Matthias in Maryland, at the age of 28.
