The latest report from market research firm Counterpoint Research focuses on smartphone shipments to India in the second quarter of this year. During this period, 37 million smartphones were shipped, representing a new record and a leap forward compared to the same period last year.

BBK Electronics, which includes Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus, is India's best-selling smartphone, responsible for 30% of the country's smartphones. Asus, HMD Oy Global, Realme and OnePlus are the fastest growing brands on an annual basis.

<p>Commenting on this issue, Tarun Pathak, deputy director of Counterpoint Research, explained that the high availability of low-cost and medium-sized phones from various manufacturers was the main reason for the growth of smart phone shipments in India. </p>
