Facebook's Instagram photo sharing site has added a feature that allows users to report posts they deem to be false, to prevent misleading information and other violations from appearing on their platform.
Facebook does not prohibit the dissemination of false information in any of its social network services, but takes steps to limit its spread and warn users.
Facebook has 54 survey partners working in 24 languages, but the Instagram program will only be available in the United States. Facebook spokespersons said that it was a first step in the search for a more comprehensive approach to combat misinformation.
