Intel has unveiled a suite of new Generation X processors for use in laptops and 2-in-1 computers.
The new processors feature the iconic Ice Lake name, enhanced graphics, and wireless communications support such as Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 3, as well as general enhancements and legislation for image and game editing.
The first set of processors should be available during the next holiday season; it will have about 35 models and will come with Ice Ice-U and Ice Lake-Y.
At the technical specification level, it has four cores with a cache memory of 6 or 8 MB and supports up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 memory. It consumes several types of energy, ranging from 9 to 28 watts and 4.1 GHz with turbo.
On the graphical side, the 11th generation Iris Plus chip delivers twice the performance of the previous generation with 1080p resolution. A dazzling feature of this chip is that it can support the operation of 5k screens at 60 frames per second or 4k at 120 frames per second with a depth of 10 bits.
This is only the beginning and the first slice. There are other options that Intel will unveil later this month, as we'll see in the notebooks that will be released later this year or early next year.
