Israel has withdrawn from the ban on the introduction of vaccines

Ramallah – Minister of Health Dr. Palestinian and international pressure has succeeded in getting Israel to reconsider its decision to prevent the introduction of vaccines in Palestine.

At the announcement of the national comprehensive vaccination plan 220-2024, the international community, the United Nations Children's Fund, the World Health Organization and the Palestinian Ministry of Health have lobbied the Israeli occupation for it to come back on its decision to ban the introduction of vaccines only in some countries.

Israel has decided to prevent the introduction of vaccines in Palestine, with the exception of the countries determined by the occupation authorities, which would entail a significant increase in the financial cost for the Palestinian government, in addition to the violation of the vaccination system, which is an effective international organization.

The Minister of Health thanked UNICEF, WHO, the international community and all the partners who helped to thwart this decision.

At the announcement of the national comprehensive immunization plan, the minister added that this announcement fits into the national strategic plan of the Ministry of Health and in cooperation with all national and international partners, to ensure the continuity of the work of the national immunization program and to mobilize all the necessary capacities to maintain the results of this program. We are proud of the countries of the region.

She said that adequate and timely planning facilitates the effective achievement of desired goals and that here it is necessary to remind everyone that the Palestinian National Immunization Program is one of the best programs of the Eastern Mediterranean region, as certified by the World Health Organization, many communicable and infectious diseases having been eliminated. Ultimately, such as polio, neonatal and variola poisoning, as well as the reduction of the morbidity badociated with many diseases through immunization, such as viral hepatitis B, measles and rubella and pertussis.
