Japan has qualified for the Asian Cup Round of 16 on Sunday with a 1/0 win over Oman in Group E's second round.
Japan's Janki Haraguchi scored a penalty in the 28th minute, refereed by Malaysian umpire Mohammed Amirel bin Yaqoub after a mistake by Raed Ibrahim Saleh Ali Ginky Haraguchi.
The win brought the Japanese leader to six points of Group E to reach the second round, while Oman remained without points after losing 1-0 to Uzbekistan.
The UAE, Jordan, China, South Korea, Iran, Iraq, Qatar and Saudi Arabia advanced to the knockout stages.
The 16-day tournament will take place on January 20th, 21st and 22nd.
