The Danish authorities evacuated 169 inhabitants of a village in the island of Greenland because of a huge iceberg that was approaching the village beach
The media has reported that the glacier was the largest and the area had never seen.
Village council member Susan Eliasin reports that the top of the iceberg is higher than all houses and hills in the village, and that power stations and fuel tanks are located near the village .
The risks badociated with icebergs are increasing due to climate change and their fragmentation increases the risk of a catastrophic tsunami.
