The protesters demanded to pay customary municipal fund taxes through the Ministry of Finance for 13 months to receive the plant and process waste from Sidon and the Federation of Sidon al-Zahrani Municipalities, as well as for two years of collection and treatment of waste in the region.
The demonstrators staged an open strike if their dues were not paid before the holidays.
