Liverpool won the European Super Cup for the fourth time in their history after beating Chelsea on penalties after the 2-2 draw ended.
Chelsea opened the scoring with French striker Olivier Giroud (36) before Liverpool was tied early in the second half by Senegal's Sadio Mane.
It was the first time this match between two English teams after Liverpool was crowned in the Champions League last season and winner of Chelsea Europa League.
