Marco Rios, the striker of Borussia Dortmund, won Sunday the title of German player of the year.
The Ruis captain, Dortmund, scored 17 goals, allowing his team to finish last season in second place behind Bayern Munich, who finished the title on the last lap.
Reus won 158 votes in the poll of journalists, while Kay Haverz of Bayer Leverkusen was ranked second with 121 votes, followed by Joshua Kemch of Bayern Munich in third place with 35 votes.
