AC Milan has announced the signing of Algerian international Ismail Ben Nbader of Empoli.
Milan did not disclose the financial value of the transaction, but it would have reached 16 million euros.
The 21-year-old Algerian star has been successfully tested in Milan for a five-year contract for an annual salary of 1.5 million euros.
Ben Nbader won the African Nations Cup player of the year title after his country won 1-0 over Senegal in the Cairo Stadium final.
Ben Nbader had a good performance during the tournament, scoring three goals for his teammates, the most recent goal scored by teammate Baghdadi Bongah against Senegal.
The Algerian team won the title for the second time in its history, having already won the 1990 edition by beating Nigeria 1-0.
