(Reuters) – Health Mina scored twice to lead Valencia to the King's Cup quarter-finals after a 3-0 win against Sporting Gijon in the second division and 4-2 on Tuesday.
Valencia lost 2-1 to go and despite the start of the game on a late date, the stadiums filled the stadium with fans hoping to see their team turn things around.
Mina opened the scoring in the 65th minute with a shot that changed direction.
The Spanish striker added the second goal ten minutes later by making a deep pbad into the opposing goal, then Voran Torres imposed it in injury time.
The result is Valencia's stalemate after a 1-1 draw against Valladolid, who remains 11th.
Getafe joined him in the quarterfinals after making a 1-1 draw with his host, Valladolid, to prevail 2-1 overall.
