Alvaro Morata, a player from Chelsea, said he was happy to settle at Atletico Madrid and sign official contracts in the coming hours despite his past with Real.

Morata arrived late Saturday in the Spanish capital to begin his official tenure at Atletico Madrid after negotiations this month with his home club, Chelsea.

"I am very happy and I have been waiting for this moment for a few days," Murata told reporters at the airport. "There is still an official signature until I start training with my colleagues."

"People close to me know how I feel about playing for Real Madrid before, I'm happy, some have other ideas, but I know what I have to do."

"The past stays in the past and can not be changed, I started playing Atletico in the past, I'm proud and hopefully settle things officially tomorrow."

Murata began her career at Atletico from 2005 to 2007 before joining the Royal Team.

Morata would be loaned for six months to Atletico Madrid until the end of the season, with an object authorized to be purchased.

Atletico Madrid on Saturday beat Getafe 2-0 in Allega to continue chasing Barcelona atop the standings.
