Former world number one Andy Murray said Friday he will return to the men's singles at the Cincinnati Open starting Saturday after accepting an invitation.

The 32-year-old, who has won three Grand Slam titles, has not played in singles since his first-round defeat at the Australian Open in January against Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut. Murray then underwent surgery to try to save his career.

"It's the feeling of accepting an invitation card from singles in Cincinnati," Murray wrote on Facebook, posting a comment as he celebrates a point in a match. "Let's go, let's go."

Murray returned to the doubles at the Queens Championships this year and won the title with Spaniard Feliciano Lopez, in addition to playing Wimbledon in the men's doubles with Frenchman Pierre-Oug Erbert and in mixed doubles with the L & R. American Serena Williams.

The draw will take place in Cincinnati later on Friday and the main draw will begin Sunday.
