NASA defines its first seismic measurement on Mars
The US space agency NASA has successfully developed the first instrument for measuring earthquakes on Mars.
NASA said in a statement that the probe "Insight" had managed to develop the first device to measure the earthquakes on the surface of Mars, called "tool of the seismic experience of the internal structure".
"The Insight Mars calendar is going better than expected, and measuring the seismograph safely on the surface has become a wonderful birthday present," said Tom Hoffman, Project Manager.
The Insight probe, arriving on Mars on November 26 after a six-month trip, is expected to begin seismic work on Mars and collect information on the inner layers of the planet.
It should be noted that earthquakes are a phenomenon caused by vibrations that affect the inner layers of the Earth. Their effect is transmitted to the surface of the Earth.
