DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Iran beat Oman 2-0 to qualify for the 2019 Asian Cup in the UAE and set a date for China in the quarterfinals.
On the ground of the Mohammed Bin Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Omani team gets a penalty in the 56th minute, but Ahmed Mubarak (Kano) ruined it to create a turning point in the match.
Iran scored its first goal in the 32nd minute on Alireza, before Jaka's Ashkan added the second goal in the 41st minute of the penalty to end the first period with two games in a row.
In the second half, the Sultanate launched timid attacks against Iran but failed to score and ended the match with two consecutive goals for the Iranian team.
The Omani team dropped the Doral 16 tournament at the Asian Cup, while Iran advanced to the quarter-finals and beat China, beating Thailand 2-2.
