Dr. Sharaf Abu Sharaf, Director General of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Walid Ammar, Chief of the Union of Northern Doctors, Salim Abi Saleh and Dr. Michel Risha,
After the meeting, MP Araji said: "The Health Committee has met today and has deliberated on the draft law on the unified medical prescription issued by the House of Representatives in 2010. The law was not implemented in 2011. In 2011, an attempt was unsuccessful. The doctors and the Ministry of Health to launch a unified prescription, means that the doctor and after the development of 39, a specific model with the syndicate buys this form and writes the name of the drugs, and some drugs it does not want to change written in parallel, it is not editable.
"The standard prescription has been stuck since 2015, its main goal being to reduce the cost of the drug bill, four million people spend about $ 1 billion and $ 750 million," he said. In Lebanon, the rate is high, except that the organization of work on the drug market lacks the mechanism concerned. In order to be able to correct the market, we agreed that the Ministry of Health had published a brochure adopted by the World Health Organization and studied in several laboratories. The pharmacist could then modify the drug and eliminate the so-called drug. NS, who has the right to change medications and that is what we agreed to within the committee today. "
As you know in Lebanon, there is no national drug office, but the pharmacy department of the Ministry of Health, which regulates the importation and registration of medicines, that is to say if One wants to introduce a drug in Lebanon, What we say is that in all countries of the world, there is a private body that does not belong to the Ministry of Health but under the tutelage of the Minister of Health. Health, this body deals with everything related to the issue of drugs from registration, pricing and control and remains an independent body because the Ministry Health is supposed to oversee health policies no more and no less and There is a national scientific executive body within the National Board of Medicines, located in most countries of the world. Saudi Arabia and Jordan are the two countries closest to the bid. So we decided to organize a workshop next Tuesday, in which all the actors of the medical sector would participate. For medicines in Lebanon, because it will greatly contribute to not entering the counterfeit medicine and selling at a reduced price and to monitor the drug, that is to say to take all the powers. Starting next week, we will hold a workshop on the drug.
