Real injury robs Real Madrid of Asencio's efforts

MADRID (Reuters) – Real Madrid striker Marco Ascencio has been torn to the left cruciate ligament of the left knee and will have to be operated for a long time, Real Madrid said on Wednesday.

"The player will undergo surgery in the coming days," Real said in a statement, without specifying the duration of Asencio's absence. The Spanish media, however, have a reception capacity of six to eight months.

Asencio, 23, was injured early Wednesday ahead of Arsenal and the Europa League of the European League last season, just minutes after scoring the tie for Real in the match won by his shot at goal 3-2 after the end of the initial time in a 2 – 2 draw at Landover, Maryland, in the International Friendly Cup.

Asencio was injured in the 65th minute after coming in and was out of the stadium on foot.

The Spanish international was injured by the club's three-season contract, which could have changed its decision to sell and keep Danny Sibayos at Arsenal, wishing to forego the services of his Welsh winger Gareth Bale.
