MADRID (Reuters) – Real Madrid have confirmed their right to qualify for the last 16 games of the Champions League and defeated Roma 2-0 on Tuesday in the fifth round of Group G matches.

Real Madrid had qualified for the last 16 games before the match against Roma, but the team managed to beat the Italian team to lead Group G.

Real Madrid and Roma have qualified for the next round after their 2-1 victory over CSKA Moscow in the Czech Republic on Saturday.

Real is in Group G with 12 points, three more than second place.

Victoria Plzen is third with four points ahead of CSKA Moscow.

In Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid won 2-0 against Gareth Bell in the 47th minute and Lucas Vasquez in the 59th minute.

The European qualifiers put the pressure on Argentine coach Santiago Solari, who was sharply criticized after the club's 3-0 defeat at Ibar on Saturday.

Real is sixth on the table, six points behind leader Sevilla.

At Arena Khimki, Nikola Vlasic scored a penalty for CSKA Moscow in the 10th minute.

But Victoria increased in the second half and scored two goals against Roman Brochatska and Lukas Higda in the 56th and 81st minutes.
