The trial of Portuguese star # Cristiano Ronaldo and Spanish Xabi Alonso in Madrid was announced on Tuesday for tax evasion.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, prosecutors demand that Ronaldo be sentenced to two years imprisonment and fined 18.8 million euros, as agreed with the Ministry of Finance, provided that the Portuguese admit to having committed four offenses of tax evasion 2011 and 2014.
In turn, the prosecution requested the conviction of Xabi Alonso to a 5-year prison sentence, after being charged with three tax evasion crimes between 2010 and 2012.
Players are expected at the trial.
