Direct: Ryanair pilots voted in favor of a pay and vacation strike after the airline failed to secure a formal offer.

In a statement released Wednesday on its website, the British Pilots Association announced the implementation of two labor strikes, one of them this month.

The first strike is scheduled for August 22-23.

The second strike is scheduled for September 2-4, according to the badociation.

The pilots voted in favor of the strike of 80%, with a participation rate of 72% of the total number of pilots.

The British Association said the pilots did not want to disrupt pbadenger travel plans, but had the feeling that they had no other choice after decades of Ryanair refusing to deal with trade unions.

The badociation said in its statement that it had made no progress with Ryanair's administration on issues relating to pensions, maternity benefits, benefits and a fair and transparent salary structure.

But Ryanair said inappropriate strikes could jeopardize the jobs of the pilots.

This comes after the airline announced job losses after a 21% drop in quarterly earnings due to higher fuel and personnel costs, as well as lower ticket prices.
