Samsung was able to increase its market share in Europe from 33.9% in the second quarter of 2018 to 40.6% this year, an increase of 20%.

This follows the company's sale of 18.3 million phones in the second quarter of this year, up from 15.3 million in the same period last year.

On the other hand, Huawei's market share rose from 22.4% to 18.8% in the second quarter of this year, after sales rose from 10.1 million phones to 8.5 million in the last quarter, which represents a decrease of 16%.

Apple also suffered a decline in sales of 7.7 million phones to 6.4 million, with a market share of 14.1%.

While Xiaomi was the only major company, apart from Samsung, to increase its market share, it managed to do so strongly and doubled its previous share in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the second quarter of 2018, when it sold 4.3 million phones, compared with 2.9 million the year before. Up 48%, this increase helped boost market share from 6.5% to 9.6%.

HMD, owner of the rights to Nokia phones, is ranked fifth in sales in the European market in the second quarter of 2019.

HMD has sold only 1.2 million phones, up from 1.5 million the previous quarter, which shows a decline of 18% from it.

The report shows that mid-range phone sales dominate the market despite the value of leading phones, as confirmed by business sales.

Samsung's sales are based on phones such as the A10, A50 and A40, while Apple is relying on sales of the iPhone XR to increase its share.

The top selling phones in Europe were the A50, A40, Redmi Note 7, A20e and iPhone XR phones.
