A scandal about water filling stores

Industry Minister, Wael Abu Faour, confirmed that Salameh's campaign on the Ministry of Industry's institutions, such as food industries, slaughterhouses and water filling plants, had been launched.

Abu Faour explained that the campaign was launched in order to monitor certain institutions and to encourage other institutions, such as the food industry. And aims to help these institutions meet the quality requirements of the Lebanese industry to facilitate exports to countries of the world, according to Abu Faour.

"With regard to water, we have launched a campaign to control bottling shops on water quality, supply of equipment and water distribution. The surprise was that the vast majority of stores (75%) were either unapproved or did not meet water safety requirements, and there were no acceptable models. Including those who have received a gift since 2015 to resolve their situation, which has not been realized until today.

We will not provide for the immediate closure of the water filling stations, but we must ensure that the well water, the health of the equipment and the means of transportation are healthy and that all are in compliance with the new conditions. Anything that is not the same will be closed, including artesian wells and water bottling shops. "
