It is easy to avoid malicious programs on smartphones: you simply avoid downloading and installing applications in third-party stores or visiting suspicious sites. However, these practices do not guarantee that your devices are not infected with malware, but they usually help to prevent this. Unfortunately for the owners of some Alcatel phones, it recently appeared that they were delivered pre-loaded with some malware.
According to a new ZDNet report, released by computer security company Upstream, which indicates that the Weather Forecast-World Weather Accuracy radar program already contains malware. The most serious is that this application was developed by TCL, which actually manufactures Alcatel phones.
TCL explained that the application was not created with malicious intent and that it seemed that at some point the application had been compromised, which had resulted in the creation of malware. Previously, the application was already available on the Google Play Store, which means that Google's security systems would have been able to detect malware. Therefore, the stage where the application has been infected is not clear.
Since then, it has been proven that malware was included in the application by a developer of TCL, which had introduced its hacking system. Once notified by Upstream, Google removed the Google Play Store app, then warned TCL.
