South Korea beat Kyrgyzstan 1-0 on Friday in the Asian Cup qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates to reach the round of 16 with the Chinese team, who beat the Philippines 3- 0 later in the day.

South Korea's Kim Kim-jae, who scored the only goal in the 41st minute, is credited with the win.

The Korean team increased its points to six points, second in the goal difference behind the Chinese team, and Kyrgyzstan remained without points in third place thanks to the goal difference against the Philippines.

Korea became the third team to advance to the round of 16 after Jordan and China.

South Korea will face China on Wednesday in the third round of the tournament, in a match that will save the leaders of the group, and face the honorary teams of Kyrgyzstan and the Philippines.

The Chinese team has qualified for the round of 16 beating the Philippines 3-0.
