BARCELONA and Real Madrid are safe from surprises by welcoming Coltoral Leonisa and Melilla to the second round of the Spanish Cup, while Espanyol will have to turn their back on Cadiz 1-2.
The return match will take place on Tuesday and Thursday. Barcelona, the league's top scorer and four-season trophy champion, will top the standings when they host Coltoral on Wednesday at Camp Nou after a 1-0 away win.
Barça coach Ernesto Valverde should rest for many of his main players, as the Cup match will be played a few days before the derby against Espanyol on Saturday.
The latter, meanwhile, is facing a more difficult task for a high-level team at this stage of the Cup, which must turn their back on Cadiz (second) in the first leg, when he hosts Tuesday en route.
Real will be more comfortable in the second leg with a 4-0 win over Melilla (third) and will play Thursday at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
