PARIS (Reuters) – Paris Saint-Germain, France's Ligue 1 champion, lost their defeat in the Champions League Cup against Jangon after a 9-0 home defeat on Saturday.

The capital's team was leading the standings with Edison Cavani and Kylian Mbabi, with two goals from Neymar and a goal from Thomas Munier, but he lost Marco Verati's efforts.

The Italian midfielder left the field 13 minutes after one of the Janjun's players injured his knee.

"I think it's dangerous, he could be away for several weeks," said St Germain coach Thomas Tochle, responsible for Veratti's injury.

St Germain will travel to Manchester United on February 12 for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

A few minutes later, Neymar feared another injury, but the Brazilian returned to the mat and ended the match. He also allowed Saint Germain to dig the gap with his nearest pursuer at 13 points.

The team has 53 points in 19 games, while Lille is second with 40 points in 21 games.

Monaco suffered a big 5-1 defeat at home against Strasbourg after playing most of the match with 10 men after Naldo was sent off in the seventh minute.

Ludovic Ajourk scored two goals and Adrian Tombadon, Ibrahima Sisoko and Yousuf Fofana participated. Monaco's only goal was forward Radmal Falcao in the 22nd minute.

The fate of Gangon

Thierry Henry's men are in fourth place with 15 points after failing to win a home win this season.

Nine days after leaving the Coupe de France quarterfinal against Gangon 2 to 1 at Stade Park Prince, Saint-Germain was very glamorous and almost scored the biggest home success of the club of the season.

The record concerns the 1935-1936 season when Sochaux defeated Valenciennes 12-1.

Neymar opened the scoring in the 12th minute when he elegantly received Danny Alves' ball to turn it into a goal-scoring net.

Mbabi scored the second goal eight minutes before the end of the first period with a superb shot in the penalty area after the ball with Neymar.

The Frenchman doubled the score in the last minute of the first period, after Cavani managed to extract the ball from Cameroon's Felix Ibua Ebua in the box.

Uruguayan striker Cavani pushed his lead to 4-0 in the 59th minute in the 59th minute, scoring from the center of Juan Bernat's center. He added another goal by heading to Angel de Maria on the left. Just two minutes later, Neymar converted a superb pbad from Mbabi to the sixth goal.

Jangjun's suffering seemed to be over.

Cavani returned to the mark when he met Levine Kurzawa, cross-legged, in the 76th minute, five minutes before Mbabi's success, adding his third goal with a Uruguayan striker's center.

Defender Munier completed the humiliating defeat with a shot from inside the box.

With this result, Mbabi, Neemar and Cavani scored 44 total goals in Ligue 1. French striker Mbabi leads the team with 17 goals.
