Start of the West Asian Athletics Championship

The third Western Asia Junior Track and Field Championship started on the first day and nine finals were held in Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Lebanese runner Maysa Mouawad has emerged as the fastest female runner in West Asia by winning the 100th gold medal, followed by her compatriot Haya Cyprus.
