Al-Husseini said in a statement to "New Arab" that the campaign, which began on Jan. 19, "has managed to eliminate 581 dogs so far". Stressing that the campaign "will continue until the exhaustion of the amount of toxins available to the ministry, which is enough to eliminate nearly 4,000 dogs."

Al-Husseini pointed out that the campaign targeted the central districts of the capital and areas where the incidence of rabies, according to information reported by the parties concerned, noting that the eradication was done in two ways ; The poison in the meat is called "graft".

Husseini explained that the campaign presented no danger to humans or other animals, and that the people involved had been trained and had received all instructions for the elimination of dogs. They were then transferred to landfills in Azraq, where they were buried to preserve the environment.

Residents of Sanaa have expressed satisfaction with the campaign after the large number of dogs in the streets and neighborhoods of the capital, Sanaa.

Khalid Al-Asbahi said that the eradication of stray and stray dogs is an important step in the fight against the spread of rabies in the absence of drugs and vaccines to fight the disease.

Al-Asbahi added that "dogs become very dangerous after being spread in the streets and neighborhoods of the capital Sanaa, especially children, women and the elderly." Call on the parties concerned to continue the campaign until the elimination of all stray dogs.

According to the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health and Population in Sanaa under the control of the Houthis, the number of cases of rabies virus has reached 6943 people, 18 of whom died in 2018.
