The authors of the British, Swedish, Swiss and Singaporean study found that this pattern affects the body's internal clock, called the daily rhythm, which governs many bodily functions, such as telling you when to eat, sleep and wake up, but the behavior of the owl disrupts the performance of this internal clock.
