The Taiz Public Health and Population Bureau announced the suspension of the campaign against dengue against soldiers who attacked its employees.
Tayseer al-Samai, deputy to the Information Department of the Health Bureau, said in a press statement that the office had suspended work on the second round of fog after the soldiers of the air defense brigade had attacked health workers participating in the campaign and looting one of the candidates from the lobby management.
He pointed out that the director of the health office, Abdul Rahim al-Sama'i, had sent a letter to the governor Nabil Shamsan, asking him to give instructions to the leaders of the axis to control the attackers of the soldiers and return the looted material.
The mosquito fumigation campaign, the second wave of dengue, began several days ago in the directions (Al-Muzaffar, Cairo, Hall, Jabal Habashi).
Dr. Abdel-Rahim Al-Samae, Director General of the Health Bureau, said that this campaign was part of the Bureau's efforts to eradicate the endemic epidemic in the city of Taiz many years ago.
He noted that the first phase took place in May and was a great success. Preliminary indicators published by the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance indicated the number of cases this year of 80% compared to last year and had not recorded any deaths so far.
Mr Al-Sama'i called on the citizens of the targeted districts to cooperate with the field teams in order to make the campaign a success, achieve its goal and eradicate the epidemic.
