The chances of the Palestinian team qualifying for the second round of the Asian Cup, which is currently in the United Arab Emirates, after a 3-0 defeat by Australia yesterday in Group B, are recovering quickly of the first defeat against Jordan.
Jimmy McClaren scored the first goal with a header in the 18th minute and Auer Mabel added another goal with a close-range shot two minutes later. At the last minute of the original substitute, Abastolos Giano scored the third goal with a header.
Australia has three points in second place, two points behind Syria and Palestine, Jordan has six points and the first to qualify for the knockout stages.
The Palestinians will play in the third round with their rivals and neighbors, Jordan, while Syria will meet Australia next Tuesday.
Australia played seriously from the start after coach Graham Arnold pushed the three players who took part in the match against Jordan.
Ryan Grant, Chris Economides and Jackson Irvine participated at the expense of Josh Risdon, Robbie Cruz and Mbadimo Longo.
Australia launched an offensive from the start, but unlike the progress of the game, an early opportunity for the Palestinian team was one of the few opportunities for the Arab team to participate in the match. The balloon reached Mahmoud Wadi in the area. Egyptian striker Wade, who joined his first group for the first time, tried to bear fruit at close range, but the Australian defense is about to reverse the danger.
But Australia put an end to another surprise after Tom Rogic sent a cross from the right and touched McLaren with a header to goalkeeper Rami Hamadeh.
Two minutes later, Economides sent a mall that Mabel had no trouble easily converting to a net.
Mabel nearly scored the third goal, but he shot a long shot, although it was a few meters from the goal of the Palestinian team four minutes before the end of the first half.
In the second half, the Palestinian attempts were limited to a few individual attempts by Wadi, while Australia seemed satisfied with the three points without much stress for the players.
Gianno left the mark after less than 10 minutes of his replacement after receiving a perfect pbad from Economidas and put the lead in the goal.
Australian coach Graham Arnold admitted that he had learned the lesson of the first game of Jordan's Asian Cup before meeting Palestine.
Arnold said: This match was a return to positive results and corrects the situation in the group. I did not have the time to gather the players and prepare myself in favorable circumstances, because of the links that unite the players to their clubs abroad.
"The level of sophistication and performance will improve and the Australian team will be able to regain its shape and appearance throughout the tour."
"The ball in Australia does not enjoy the same support that it has received in the UAE and in several other Asian countries that are investing heavily in improving the game and achieving world standards. This support will contribute in a few years to further reduce the gap between the main powers of football on the yellow continent, "he said. .
He stressed: "The Palestinian team tried to play the strategy of the Jordanian team itself, but we benefited from what the Jordanian team did in the beginning and countered the surprise which was thought by the Palestinian team ".
Graham praised the performance of his players, citing the possibility of improving performance more and more, considering that the brilliant talent of Oir Mabel and Jimmy McClaren would further contribute to the strength of the team. 39 team in the upcoming confrontations, and that the Australian team has many players ready to benefit.
Regarding the next match of Syria, he said: "We are looking to win and present our true level, as well as the three points".
