Washington – SANA
Researchers at the University of California at San Francisco have discovered that daily use of aspirin can increase the resistance of cancer patients by as much as 78%.
A group of researchers hoped to establish a natural link between the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and the increased resilience of cancer patients carrying the PKK3 gene, according to the study published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine.
Researchers used data from 266 cancer patients who had survived five years after head and neck cancer and who had been found in tumors in 75 people on the gene.
The study found that patients with the invasive gene regularly took aspirin for six months, increasing their chances of survival for five years from 25 to 78%.
