Labor Minister Kamil Abu Sulaiman said the request to exempt Palestinians from work permits needed to amend the law and exempt it from law enforcement was not applicable.
He explained in an interview with "Naharam Saeed" that he had asked for a written asking "to understand what they want," stressing his belief that "the situation of the Palestinians is difficult and that we are applying life related to them and that we recognize and consider them as an acquired right ".
"The Palestinians objected because they consider that there is a specificity for the refugees," he said, adding that "a law pbaded in 2010 exempts them from work permits and that they are not allowed. there is a special fund for Palestinians of Social Security who enjoy end-of-service benefits,.
"The Palestinian uproar is not innocent and the law is not the law of Lebanese forces but the law of the Lebanese state," he said. "If the Palestinians do not want to attend the meetings, I will not listen to them."
He pointed out that he had not withdrawn from law enforcement, stressing that he had not made a new retraction decision, noting that he had not made a decision to withdraw from the law. he had submitted the Ministry of Labor's plan to the Council of Ministers which had not been discussed contrary to what was being discussed.
In this context, Abu Suleiman announced that "yesterday we started a night search with 8 institutions in Hazmieh and Doha Armon, as well as 19 checks and 3 warnings".
The results of the plan, he said, are encouraging, revealing that "some 1,400 jobs were created in one month for the Lebanese, where some companies have replaced foreign workers with Lebanese".
He said: I have studied the subject of foreign labor, especially Syrian when I took office and I found that I treated this issue under the angle purely technical and not political in nature.
He talked about the sponsorship system for domestic workers, saying that it needed to be amended. "What we do is break the link between workers and employers," he said.
