Jean-Pierre Mockey, who has directed more than 60 films with the biggest French stars, died at age 90, his family announced on Thursday.
His brother-in-law, Jerome Pera, said: "Jean-Pierre Mockey died at his home Thursday afternoon." His son, actor and director Stanislas Nordi, confirmed the death of his father.
"Jean-Pierre Mockey continued his next film with Purville, Michel Cerro, Michel Simon, Fernandell, Jean Moreau, Jean-Bourier, Frances Blanche, Charles Aznavour and many others," said Stanislas Nordy and his daughter Olivia Mukijevsky in a statement at AFP. The film died at the age of ninety-first in his Parisian house surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Moke has directed more than 60 films, including "The Paroisian Droll" with Purville and "A More Larpeter" with Michel Cerro and Eddie Mitchell. It was considered a "disorderly cinema" French with its constant criticism and absolute freedom.
During his long career, he made movies with great actors from Purville to Catherine Deneuve, through Charles Aznavour and Gerard Depardieu.
