Scientists have published their findings in Nature Communications. The eye drops SPHINX31 compound, commonly used in the treatment of diseases of the retina, can inhibit the activity of a gene responsible for the activity and proliferation of cancer cells.
The efficacy of this compound was tested in laboratory mice injected with leukemic cells and treated with SPHINX31. Scientists note that growth and proliferation of cancer cells have become slow without any side effects.
