NEW YORK (Reuters) – Wall Street had a strong sell-off on Wednesday, pushing the Dow Jones industrial average to its biggest one-day drop since October 2018 as investors worried about the global recession. .

The Dow closed the session down 801.10 points, or 3.05%, to 25,479.42, while the overall Standard & Poor's 500 index was down 85.72 points, or 2.93%, to close at 2,840.60.

Both indices posted the lowest close in two months.
