The drug "Trojan Horse" destroys cancer cells with an incredible trick!

Scientists at Northwestern University have developed a drug called "Trojan horse" that cheats and kills cancer cells by linking fats to chemotherapy, which tumors use as fuel for growth.

Malignant cells make fat gain when you withdraw from cancer treatment. Once the cancerous tumor has entered, the drug becomes active and destroys the killer cells.

Scientists have tested this new approach with the help of a chemical drug, paclitaxel, which has been "totally" spent in bone, pancreatic and colon cancer in mice.

"It's like a Trojan horse, it looks like a small fatty acid, so the tumor receptors see it and shoot it, and then the drug starts killing the tumor cells," said the chief investigator, Dr. Nathan Gianchi, professor of chemistry.

Scientists have designed a drug that binds to the drug at both ends of the fatty acid chain to see if chemotherapy can be administered more successfully. Then the mixture of drugs and lipids is hidden in the human serum protein (HSA), present in the blood and carrying the fat molecules in the body.

Professor Gianci explained that the idea is to hide the medicine in the form of fat so that the cells enter the body and move it with all the "comfort".

The results, published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, showed that this approach allowed the introduction of a larger dose of treatment in cells and that it was 17% safer than other drugs.
