The Tunisian Football Federation has announced the conclusion of a final agreement with Frenchman Alain Giras to take over the Carthage Eagles to replace Tunisia's Fawzi Benzarti.
Aged 66, he has trained several French teams, including Paris Saint-Germain and some African teams, including Senegal.
He will start his new job at the head of the Tunisian team in the coming days.
The Tunisian team qualified for the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, to be held next summer, has not yet determined the host country.
