The heat wave in Quebec killed 70 people

The Quebec authorities announced that the final toll of victims of the heatwave that hit the French-speaking province of Canada in early July was 70 years. A spokeswoman for the provincial health ministry told AFP that nearly half of the 34 deaths were recorded in Montreal, the economic capital of Quebec.

Eastern Canada experienced a severe heatwave during the first week of this month, but only Quebec experienced an increase in deaths badociated with extreme heat.
