Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, Ali Meselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Ezzeddin Abusett, Minister of Agriculture and Soil Rehabilitation, participated in the meeting of the board of directors of the National Food Safety Authority to enhance its effectiveness and activate its oversight role, at the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade.

The Minister of Health and Population thanked all members of the Board of the National Food Safety Authority for their role during the past period, chaired by Dr. Hussein Mansour for its efforts to improve the infrastructure and legislation of the Authority to enable it to play its supervisory role.
The Minister of Health and Population stressed the need to agree the indicators of the National Authority for Food Safety with international and international indicators of food safety and work to implement them, so to guarantee the quality of the food provided to the citizens.

Mr. Ezzeddin Abusett, Minister of Agriculture and Soil Rehabilitation, emphasized the need for integrated work with the National Food Security Authority and the Ministry of Agriculture. , in order not to duplicate or conflict of responsibilities, as well as to activate the protocols concluded with the Commission and all relevant departments and agencies. "He stressed that the volume of Egyptian exports this year is unprecedented, which makes the role of the Commission very important at this stage, and stressed the need to adopt reference laboratories of the Authority endowed with an international accreditation.
It should be mentioned that the members of the board of directors of the National Authority for Food Security agreed in principle, at the meeting, to add three relevant laws in the law of the Commission, to submit to the Council of Ministers for final approval, the first being to facilitate the control procedures of exported and imported goods, and the specifications of containers used in foodstuffs, and the third on the requirements to be met for the means of transport of fresh and frozen fish on the Egyptian territory.
