A recent British medical study, conducted by researchers at the British School of Medicine Brighton & Cessics, revealed that the hookah was not limited to respiratory diseases, but that it was also prone to obesity, diabetes and other serious illnesses.
According to the study published on the UK website "Sky News", hookah smokers are more likely to develop type II diabetes than non-smokers.
Smoking the hookah is equivalent to smoking a pack of cigarettes, and the amount of toxins entering the health can be higher, said researcher Gordon Vernes, one of the authors of the study.
