Hany Abu Reda, President of the Egyptian Football Federation (CAF), Ahmed Malagasy Ahmed, President of the African Confederation of CAF, has expressed his desire to run for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Abu Reda held today a meeting with the head of Al-Kaf and expressed the wish of Egypt to organize the 32nd edition of the Continental Championship.

Abu Reda is expected to meet with Egyptian Minister of Sport and Youth Ashraf Subhi in the coming hours before making an official request for Al-KAN.

The CAF President will travel to Cairo for two days to attend the finals of the African Beach Soccer Championships in Sharm el-Sheikh.

The African Union had decided earlier to withdraw the honor of organizing the African Cup of Cameroon 2019 because of the delay in completing the infrastructure works and stadiums. While all the data and indicators argued in favor from Morocco to succeed Cameroon, the Minister of Sports and Youth, Rachid Talbi, surprised public opinion in his country. Africa, announced the refusal of the Kingdom to submit its candidacy to the tournament.

The CAF has set the 14th of this month as the deadline for submission of applications for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the host country being announced on 9th January.
