The International Football Federation (FIFA) has agreed to increase the number of women participating in the FIFA Women's World Cup from 24 to 32 from 2023.
"The FIFA Council unanimously approved a proposal to increase the number of women participating in the Women's World Cup from 24 to 32," FIFA said in a statement.
He continued: "The decision to take effect from the next version in 2023."
FIFA has decided this year to increase the number of teams participating in the 2026 Men's World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico, from 32 to 48 teams.
