The World Health Organization (WHO) congratulated the Saudi government and the Ministry of Health for successfully hosting the Haj without reporting a single public health incident or disease outbreak.
The organization expressed its deep gratitude to all health workers and their volunteers for their commitment to providing health care services to 2.5 million pilgrims.
WHO has deployed a team of experts to badist the Saudi Ministry of Health and to ensure that public health preparedness measures are taken to prevent any risk of epidemics, especially when serious threats occur. the Ebola outbreak in some parts of the world.
WHO has been working with Saudi authorities to evaluate sanitation facilities in holy places with the help of standard WHO tools. The results of this badessment will help authorities to further strengthen services and meet the needs of pilgrims.
WHO and the Saudi authorities have called on all States to comply with the requirements of Hajj and the advice provided jointly, to remain vigilant and to continuously monitor any threat to public health that may be badociated with the return of pilgrims.
The WHO congratulates the Saudi government and the Ministry of Health for successfully organizing the 1440 season of this year's Hajj without reporting any public health events or disease outbreaks among the pilgrims.
